Tinnitus Question And Help?

Whats The Best Way To Deal With Tinnitus??? im just out of hospital i have tonsillitis alot of the time and makes my tinnitus and i think antibiotics makes it worse 2 when u are run down do u find your tinnitus bad??? whats the best thing to ease tinnitus im meant to get my tonsil taken out in 2 weeks would this ease my tinnitus??

Sometimes no one knows what causes tinnitus so I can’t say for certain whether having your tonsils removed will have any effect. If your tinnitus started since having tonsillitis then there is a good chance you may see a change once they are removed as I do know many people who have caught tinnitus from an ear/sinus infection and once cured, tinnitus has gone away in a couple of weeks.
Tinnitus is one of those diseases you just have to deal with. There is usually no medical cure and as far as I’m aware, no amount of drugs, can make it go away or even become milder.
My tinnitus tends to have on and off weeks where sometimes it’s barely noticeable and other times when it’s very annoying and loud. I usually find it more annoying when I’m paying attention to it or when I’m stressed or tired.
I recommend either keeping yourself busy or if this isn’t really an option as you feel too ill, just relax. Have plenty of sleep and just spend some quality time with the tv, books, magazines, games.. whatever your into. If you find your tinnitus distracting whilst doing these things put some gentle music in the background to drown it out.
