ive been in a metal band and have been going to a lot of loud concerts for the last 3 years without using hearing protection for a majority of the time..last september, i developed tinnitus and have confirmed with an audiologist that i have a minor hearing loss..now i always make sure i wear ear plugs at band practice, shows, and for any other loud activities..for the most part, i have learned to live with it and have it pretty much under control, but i was just wondering if there were any other musicians with tinnitus on here that would like to talk and share experiences, stories, or coping methods? only anwer if your going to give a serious response, please.
when it starts it never goes away after that.I noticed that the more tired you are seems like the louder it is. there is no cure for it. It would be nice to hear silence again.It has something to do with the nerves in your inner ear vibrating and wont stop.I think too many asprin for earache also causes it,,a word of warning,,
Overall, I’m a pretty healthy person, though my cholesterol level is a bit high. Otherwise, I have some hearing damage from when I was a child; I am almost completely deaf in my right ear, and sometimes suffer from Tinnitus, but that’s about all. Lately, though, I have been feeling extremely lightheaded; when I stand after bending, I hear a loud “swishing” sound, as if I were putting a seashell to my ear. I also become very dizzy. I went to the doctor, but aside from my cholesterol level, everything seems to be normal. Am I just overreacting? Thank you!
Well, you stated everything seemed to be fine after seeing your doctor but was that just according to blood work or did he/she actually check your ears?
If not, I would follow up with that and/or see an ENT. There could very well be a problem with your inner ear. Many problems related to the inner ear can be the reason for your symptoms.
