Herbs Tinnitus

Instrumental background music suggestions. Music to work by.?

I am looking for some instrumental music I can listen to at work to cover up my Tinnitus (ringing of the ears). For some variety I am looking for both quiet music and something upbeat with some energy.
I had cassette tapes by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, and Chuck Mangioni’s Feels So Good. I also like some classical, but am pretty uninformed about classical. When I hear something I like I still don’t know who the composer or orchestra is.
I appreciate any suggestions you can give me.
I’m sure classical music is better without the high pitched whine accompaniment. But I can either listen to the whine by itself, or with something nice to distract me a little. Your understanding and compassion are underwhelming. How do you cope with your tinnitus?

I find that at home when I have tasks to do I just like to hear some music as it makes the time pass quicker, or easier while I’m doing what has to be done. Either you could play some big orchestral pieces like lengthy symphonies that have the usual four movements of various tempos (tempi?) – that would be Beethoven symphonies; Schubert’s symphonies are very musical too; Brahms has solid symphonies that can get serious. I like the short, precise, musical gem “Classical Symphony” by Prokoviev, it’s brilliant.

Since I’m partial to violin music I really enjoy quartets, trios, duets mostly by the romantic composers:

MENDELSSOHN: Octet in E flat Major, op. 20
(TELARC, Cleveland Quartet & Meliora Quartet)

LOUIS SPOHR: Double Quartets, Nos. 1 & 2
(HYPERION, Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Soc.)

DVORAK: Slavonic Dances (Deutsche Grammophon)
There are also his excellent String Quartets, charming Waltzes, Bagatelles, and beautiful ‘Cypresses’ which I like a lot.

There’s lots more, but this is a start. Good luck!
