The effects of exposure to loud noises When loud noises interfere with one’s hearing or induce tinnitus, there is an indication that cochlear damage has occurred. The cochlea is the part of the inner ear that detects pressure and transmits electrical impulses through the auditory nerve, sending the sound transmission to the brain. The majority cochlear damage cases stem from regular exposure to loud noise or from the person being in a motor accident which results in sudden exposure to extremely loud noises. Loud Ear

By taking what measures tinnitus can be prevented?

Tinnitus, in which the sufferer experiences ringing in ear, is a common problem affecting many people across the world. It can cause grave discomfort and problems to the affected person and hence it is important to take preventive measures against it. The first step towards preventing tinnitus from affecting you is to know the tinnitus causes thoroughly. Once you are aware of the causes of tinnitus, you should be careful about them and avoid them in order to make sure that you are not affected by them. Ringing in ear is a grave symptom and can produce huge discomfort to the patient.

Tinnitus can be effectively prevented by protecting one’s ears from any kind of damage both at home and at work place. There are many factors at home and work that can damage one’s ears. Putting cotton swabs or similar pointed items in the ear should be avoided since they are known to cause extreme danger to the ear-drums. These items may be put for the purpose of cleaning wax but they may affect adversely. These things can cause wax impaction against the ear-drum which can further become a cause of tinnitus. It is usually seen that old people take medicines for blood pressure and diabetes as prescribed by their doctor, this needs to be taken carefully on time and in appropriate quantities otherwise there is danger of Tinnitus occurring to them. There are certain work places where the employees are compelled to work amidst loud noises such as a factory.

The employees in such places have major danger from getting affected from tinnitus. The continuous loud noise that they are put to bear has a very adverse effect on their ear-drums. In order to prevent this situation, it is recommended that these people should adapt techniques such as using ear plugs or ear-muffs so as to protect the ear-drums from getting damaged. If a person is prone to tinnitus because of extreme exposure to loud noise in the work place, then it is better to avoid such jobs. If not then the hearing cells will be permanently damaged leading to extreme consequences. In addition, as an extra precaution, an association should be formed to keep vigilance regarding the health issues of the employees, for example Occupational safety and health administration (OSHA).

With these measures it is also recommended that an individual should take care on he personal level by using ear plugs or ear muffs when he is amidst loud noise. Such precautions need to be taken when in a situation like music concerts, sporting events. In an ideal situation, the level of the sound should be reduced to a level which does not damage the ears but if that is not possible then, the people present there should take precautions for prevention of damage to their ears. Even daily activities like blow drying or using a lawnmower can hamper one’s ears.

Therefore again, the role of earmuffs and plugs become important since they should be worn in order to avert hazards. If you are a patient of tinnitus, then you need to know an important thing which is that by eating chocolates, drinking soda, coffee and alcohol, tinnitus is aggravated and conditions are worsened for you. The reason behind this is that these food items are responsible for affecting the flow of blood in the veins and this in turn affects the normal hearing. So one should be careful of avoiding these items so that further complications do not creep in.

The definition of tinnitus

Tinnitus is the perception of sound within the human ear in the absence of corresponding external sound. It is a nonspecific symptom of hearing disorder characterized by the sensation of buzzing, ringing, clicking, pulsations, and other noises in the ear. The sounds can sometimes be very quiet or very loud, but all the same very annoying and it really brings a lot of suffering to the sufferer.

The reasons for tinnitus

There are many reasons for tinnitus, but the two major ones related to hearing disorders are ageing and exposure to loud noise. Besides, it can also develop because of excessive ear wax, stress, an emotional upset, an illness, injury or infection which may not be related to the hearing mechanism. It can also appear as a reaction to or side effect of a drug.

Tinnitus Hazards

Tinnitus can lead to hearing reducing directly. What’s more, it can lead to deafness if it is not treated in time. Most aged tinnitus sufferers can catch Alzheimer while long-time tinnitus patients may have insomnia, irritability, dizziness, memory loss, hearing loss, and anxiety depression.

TINNITUS CAUSE – SENSORINEURAL HEARING LOSS

TINNITUS CAUSE: SENSORINEURAL HEARING LOSS

Sensorineural hearing loss is a condition in which sound reaches the inner ear but a person is unable to process it properly. This type of hearing loss occurs because of a problem in the inner ear, the cochlear nerve, or rarely, a problem within the brain. The most common cause of sensorineural hearing loss is due to damage of the tiny hair cells of the inner ear, located along the cochlear nerve in the cochlea. These hairs carry information about hearing, which is interpreted by the brain. Damage or infection to these hairs are a very common cause of ear ringing Tinnitus head noises. The vestibular nerve carries information related to balance on to the brain. These two nerves are connected and together are called the vestibulocochlear nerve, or commonly called the auditory nerve. This nerve can be damaged with age or from repeated exposure to loud noise, referred to as acoustic trauma and resulting in associated Tinnitus head noise symptoms. Nerves that relay sound impulses can become damaged as a result of disease (such as multiple sclerosis), having a stroke, or from a tumor. Sensorineural hearing loss’ root cause is due to a problem with the vestibulocochlear nerve system.

Remembering that Tinnitus is not a disease in and of itself, but a consequence of an underlying condition, correct diagnosis of the condition along with a holistic heath based approach to hearing and immune system support offers the best opportunity for improvement.

Curing Tinnitus head noise symptoms can never be achieved by tackling one of the many factors responsible for Tinnitus . If you’ve ever tried to cure your Tinnitus using a one-dimensional treatment like drugs, herbal supplements or even detox diets and failed it’s probably because you have tackled only one aspect.

Surgery should be considered only when there is a clear structural reason for tinnitus that can be improved with surgery. One should only consider surgery for tinnitus if you were diagnosed with a tumor, otosclerosis, or fistula. Fortunately, these conditions are rare.

Tinnitus is triggered by multiple internal factors and therefore can only be treated by tackling all of those internal elements responsible for tinnitus and not by masking the noise or by calming the muscles or nerves of the outer ear (as with laser treatments for tinnitus, for example). The only way you can ever cure your tinnitus is by correctly diagnosing your condition from within by listening to what your body is trying to tell you, work with it and free yourself.
