Hi! My name is Brian Fournier; I am 43 years old, married with two children, and a previous suffered of tinnitus.
I’m really glad you stopped by my blog. I made this site to let you know that no matter how bad your tinnitus symptoms are, there is hope, and not to give up. I have structured the content so as to present you the reader with information in different ways, because everyone learns there own way.
To give you some idea of where I am coming from, let me give you a little bit of my history, to give you perspective.
Shortly after graduating college in 1994 I got a constant humming sound (from where or how I don’t know) sort of like being under a bunch of hydro wires…you know the buzzing sound, but this was in my head and it would not go away. I thought I was going crazy.
This sound just went on and on and on, some days it was mild humming sound, and then some days it was so bad that not only did I get a loud buzzing or humming sound in my head, but I’d develop a really horrible head ache that just wouldn’t go away. It was so bad that I had to take time off from work because I could not function. This went on for years – I guess roughly over 6 years.
I didn’t know what to do, so as a foolish young man I suffered in silence so to speak. Silence would have been a blessing. I found coping with tinnitus a nightmare that just wouldn’t end.
When my tinnitus symptoms got to the point where it became nearly impossible to get to sleep at night, it created many problems for me. I became short tempered irritable, and I had a hard time holding down relationships, and to make matters worse the tinnitus was adversely affecting my work. I nearly lost my job because I wan not able to concentrate and function effectively at work, because the ringing ears were distracting me all the time, I just couldn’t stay focused.
My health started to breakdown and deteriate, and after I nearly self-destructed from a combination of stress, fatigue, exhaustion and a variety of other health problems, I got desperate and started to look for solutions. I tried a variety of things including changes in lifestyle, diet and then I finally found out about a solution called a masker, a tinnitus masker. Yeha!!
The first night I used a tinnitus masker, I got the first decent night sleep I had in almost three months. I not only felt refreshed the following morning… but I woke up feeling like there was a chance, and a hope that the ringing in the ears was finally under control, and that my tinnitus would no longer get the better of me.
Sleep, whoa, I was getting some sleep finally…why I didn’t try this before I don’t know. The masker worked great, and getting solid sleep again probably literally saved my life, my job, my friendships, especially my sanity…but I didn’t want to depend on a masker for the rest of my life.
Things have finally come full circle as of June 2011; between changes in lifestyle, diet and a tinnitus masker I have found peace, and I also realize that there is not always just one solution, often times it could be a combination of things, so you have to keep trying until you find something that works for you.
For me the Lifestyle change, diet change, tinnitus masker = no more tinnitus.
Luckily for me I managed to find a working solution to my tinnitus, and I am now living a life with out the ringing in my ears. My family says I am more relaxed and more importantly less irritable and stressed out.
If you are like I was, you know about how disruptive, debilitating and unbearable tinnitus symptoms can get. You know about the distractions, the headaches, the irritability, and how hard it is to explain to others that it’s not “JUST” the constant buzzing in the ears… it’s your life and peace of mind on the line.
So the reason that I created this site is because I know how much pain, torment and frustration that I went through so I know exactly what tinnitus sufferers are going through… to let other people know that they don’t have to suffer like I did.
I hope I can help you find the tinnitus cure that works for you as well for you as mine did for me so you can enjoy the peace and quiet too!
There is help out there for tinnitus, so don’t give up!
So, here’s to a restful sleep,
Brian
